PROJECT SUMMARY
DARK DAYS.
A NEW DAWN.
LET THERE BE LIGHT.
“Vayehi Or” imagines the moment after a long and difficult period — when good news can return, old dreams can begin again, people can celebrate without guilt, and everyone can finally come home.
Filmed during a real live performance, the visual treatment turns that hope into something physical. A fully CG smiling sun gradually rises into the show, growing with the music until it becomes a shared presence above the crowd — a simple image of light returning after darkness.
The Hope
The song looks beyond the weight of the present toward ordinary life returning — celebration, freedom, new beginnings and the possibility of brighter days ahead.
The Live Moment
The video was captured during a real performance, leaving little room for second takes. Camera position, performer placement, lighting and timing all had to align in the moment so the visual idea could work later in post.
The Sun
The smiling sun was designed, modeled, textured and lit from scratch as the central CGI element of the film. As the song opens up, it grows from part of the performance into a large visual symbol above the crowd.
VISUAL BREAKDOWN
FROM LIVE MOMENT
TO RISING LIGHT.
Sun Build
The smiling sun was built from the ground up, with modeling, materials and lighting developed to keep the form simple, warm and instantly readable.
Stage References
Floor marks and on-set references helped preserve the performer’s position, movement and scale, making the CG sun feel connected to the live performance.
Practical Pull
Real balloons were attached to the rope during filming so the tension and pull would behave naturally on set. In post, the balloons were replaced with the fully CG sun, helping the final interaction feel grounded and believable.
Scalet & Placement
The sun was designed as one oversized CG element, positioned to feel physically present above the live performance while maintaining a believable relationship to the stage, crowd and camera

Practical Light
The yellow glow was triggered live with the singer’s movement, letting the real crowd catch the light as if it came from the CG sun.
